Thanks Sam. If we charge the employer, are they then allowed to charge the apprentice to recover the cost? The apprentices are existing employees so are not hired as an apprentice/on an apprentice wage, if that makes any difference.

Thank you @.... What would our options be if they refused to pay for this? This particular learner does not have a PLR, so this is our only option to exempt them. They have scored low on initial assessment so would they be eligible for funding to recomplete? If so the employer does not want to release them to attend learning for this when they have already gained it in the past. Is our best bet to cover the certificate cost ourselves or can we tell the employer they must release them to recomplete (if I am correct that they are indeed eligible for funding)?
