Hi Kelly A very top line reply but i believe as long as its classed as 'New learning' they can log as OTJ hours, I also believe they can now also log revision as OTJ. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will reply with a much more in depth response but HTH in the meantime :)

Hi Michael Willacy, we havent actually used Cognassist that was Christine. What i will say is that we have just launched an Initial Screening form for ALL our learners whether a recognised ALN is present or not. This form asks some key questions on official diagnosis they may have, or how school or college was for them and some key questions around their previous learning styles. We hope that this will be a great starting point to open up conversations that may never have been had before. We then follow this up with our coaches logging any extra support they are offering the learner and evidence of that support (on a monthly basis) so we can then make our claims retrospectively each month. We have only just launched so we will gauge how this goes. My manager was recently on an Webinar and they talked about the ALN/LSF changes and she said the support we have put in place was almost replicated in that webinar, so that at least makes us feel like we are on the right track! HTH

Hi SD Just had this through from the team: Dear PDSAT User, 23/24 was expected to be available today (30th November) but the deployment failed overnight - we are investigating as a matter of urgency. Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused. HTH :)

Christine Gregory, I know!! We are going to gather the evidence we currently save for our learners and ask the question directly to our Account Manager, who can then go away and find out if its sufficient! At least we can then say we have done all we can to find out if we are being compliant for audit.

Hello, please see the guidelines in this link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apprenticeships-bursary-for-care-leavers/apprenticeships-care-leavers-bursary-policy-summary Just something worth noting, from 1st August the claim increases to £3000...so i dont know if you are able to delay the learner starting until 1st August onwards to get the higher rate for the learner? Probably not but worth a mention! HTH

Hi Ben, We asked this question to our ESFA account manager, here was his reply: 'Neither the funding rules nor the above guidance prescribe a specific assessment tool – this is so the assessment can be tailored to the needs of the individual and their circumstances. For certain conditions/needs (eg dyslexia) there may be some off the shelf solutions which may help with the assessment process but we do not specify/prescribe what they should be' And then he went on to send this link for more guidance: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1112154/Learning_support_funding_for_apprentices_with_learning_difficulties_and_disabilities.pdf So as usual, its all open for interpretation! We are doing some work this end and putting a plan together to look at the covering all bases going forward (as we interpret it) Hope this helps :)
