Learning actual end date for Apprentices

Created

None

Hi

Could you try and clarify something for us. We have differing opinion on what is classed as the actual end date (not achievement date).  I believe that this would be any active learning which is either OTJ or English and Mathis training which has taken place before they learner reaches Gateway.

Another opinion is that there will be instances when the apprentices last date of activity will not be counted as OTJT but is the last date they actively worked towards their programme such as a job write up, corrections following IQA feedback.

Could you let me know your thoughts

You're right. ESFA rules say;

P35.2 The apprentice must be involved in active learning (off-the- job training and / or English and maths) throughout the apprenticeship, from the learning start date to the learning actual end date (i.e. the practical period). Some active learning must take place at least every 4 weeks (or a break in learning must be used).
