How to record a learner restart or new record?

Hi,

I need some guidance on how to record this learner.

This learner withdrew from his apprenticeship in 2020 after completing over 12 months on programme with another training provider. Our IA has deemed he actually needs another 7 months worth of learning before he would be ready for gateway, obviously he's received all of his funding so we as an employer provider will cover the training costs to get him to gateway.

I have been told I need to add him to the ILR even though he's received all of his funding etc for gateway purposes, so I've shown the reduction costs and reduced duration using the RPL area and TNP, however I'm getting errors on the duration being less than 12 months and OTJ being less than the minimum.

How would you record this on the ILR? Should I be recording him as a restart, even though he withdrew?

Yes you will need to flag as a restart.

You always tick restart if they've drawn down even a little funding for that particular Standard before. If it's a restart after an agreed break, you also record the Original Start Date, that's the difference.

What you may find is, the remaining 20% in the band that would originally have been just the completion element gets broken down into 7 on programme payments and a completion payment. So if the band max was £10k, and there was just the completion amount left, that you've reported as your total price (£2k), I think that might get split into £400 completion and 7 monthly payments of about £228 for you, even if you recorded is all as assessment.
