I asked DfE/AS this a while back in the context of a student who had a change of employer with a gap of more than 30 days, and they said no, they couldn't restart and be funded if the restart was after 01/01/2026. Other providers have since had the opposite answer.
I think you'll have to ask yourself for a provider transfer, though I think they'll probably say it's ok as long as you record as a restart.
Yes I got the following last week :
"...any apprentice who started a level 7 apprenticeship before 1 January 2026 will continue to be funded through to completion.
Changes to funding for level 7 apprenticeships
This would include where there is change of employer or provider."

If a learner started on L7 prior to the funding rules changes in Jan 26 and now wants to transfer provider but is 22, will the original rules still stand as a restart with the new provider or will the new rule apply?
