Funding Query

None

Hello just got a query on a learner who is in employment and has prior qualifications up to level 4. Would they be eligible for a level 2 qualification which relates to their job role at the co-funded rate?

They claim no benefits work full time I am just querying eligibility with the prior attainment also aged 24+

Reading the rules co-funded should be ok ?

Yeah, there's no prior attainment limits on 24+ learners (and, oddly, the only limits on 19-23s are about people who *don't* have FL2).

Does it matter if they earn over the £17,004 if it is co-funded?

Steve Hewitt

If they earned less than that they'd be fully funded!

Hi Both

A follow up question if you don't mind, how does this link with P81 please? My understanding from that rule would be that the above would not be allowed unless content materially different and substantive new skills involved.

Thanks

Jessica De Melo This query is about AEB, not apprenticeships (which the P81 rules is for). The rules on apprenticeships are different. It is true in AEB that you would reduce the funding percentage if the content of the previous qualifications overlapped, but they could easily be completely different subjects.

Thanks Ruth! We are in apprenticeships so that makes a lot more sense now :)
