I think I misunderstood your question. If they're logging OTJ with a date that was before the break started, I can't see an issue with them physically recording it during the break. Honestly, we couldn't stop an apprentice doing that if they wanted to. Our apprentices on a break still have access to the College systems, and as long as the date recorded against the OTJ hours wasn't during the break, we'd be fine with that.
Apologies for the confusion, probably didn't work it clearly enough! Ours still have access to the system as well and had raised the question with their apprenticeship officer because they were mindful of the funding rules regarding OTJ "work" during a break (who knew apprentices actually read the funding rules!?). But yes, they won't be doing any additional training, just administration by way of mapping what they had already done prior to starting their breaks. Thanks for clarifying!

Activities during a Break in Learning

Does anyone foresee any issues with a learner doing some personal administration during a break in learning e.g. mapping KSBs to some of their existing portfolio evidence? They're not going to be doing any additional training/learning with the provider/employer during their break, so I wouldn't have thought this would present any problems where the funding rules are concerned, but wanted to get a general consensus.
