UKPRN_33 Error in R01 Submission

Created

None

We have run our first 26/27 R01 submission this morning, and there appears to be 25 errors with the UKPRN_33 error code. Is anyone aware of any known issues within the 26/27 R01 submissions? If not, does anyone have any advice on how to resolve the errors. All of the learners seem to have started in the last couple of contract years, and on checking, all of the UKPRN's are correct across the ILR and App Service. Thanks

I've just managed to do an upload with no errors - admittedly it's only got 3 apprentices on just as a test to check going through ok. Will look at the reports and post back if anything odd on ours.

Hi Oliver,

I've run an R01 this morning and have 83 of these errors, cannot see why, all have been on programme for a while, as you say - ours have various status' and start dates, some original start dates going back to 2021.

Came here to see if anyone has the same before I raise a ticket. I've been through the validation rules (guidance.submit-learner-data.service.gov.uk/26-27/validation-rules/rule/UKPRN_33) and can't see where we have apparently gone wrong.

Same here, we have 51 of these errors and again can't seem to see how to fix and wonder why they have only just appeared! I'll be raising a ticket now. Any of the experts able to advise?

Alison Hardwick

Hi Oliver, long time no see and all that - how's things?

We also have the UKPRN_33 errors across both College and ITS ILRs, I've already submitted a ticket to the DfE this morning.  Do you have any other Apprenticeship errors that you don't believe are errors at all?

Craig Roper

We also have this error, just the 76 for us! though :(

Rebecca Drury

Hi Alison Hardwick,

We also have 230 R161 errors (If Hours Record 'Planned hours for off the job training due to a reduction in prior learning' (HRS 4) has been returned, 'Price Reduction due to prior learning' (RIP 1) financial record must also be returned).

A handful I believe are genuine because they are still being processed ready to start. Many, however are mid-programme with a start date in 2025/26 and also do not have an "HRS 4" record, not that I can see anyway as there is no new "Hours Record" field in our pre-2026/27 ILRs.

We also have the UKPRN_33 errors. Mainly affecting Engineering programmes that started in 21/22, 22/23. Has anyone had a response from the DfE yet?

Hi Rebecca,

We also have a number of these errors and I agree with you, some are genuine as they are awaiting RPL Trackers in Aptem which will then populate these fields.

However, as you say, we have a number of errors for learners who have start dates in 25/26!

The other errors I have are

R30 All aims that are part of a programme must have a corresponding programme aim with the same Programme type and Standard code
R66 All funded component aims must have a corresponding programme aim with the same Programme type and Standard code

Again, these learners have 25/26 start dates, the R12 ILR was error free and all have matching data across all aims.

I submitted a ticket this morning so let's see what the response is.

Hi Helen,

No response as yet, I'll post here as soon as I hear anything, if anyone else can do the same.

Good afternoon all,

Is anyone else getting this? I've reported to the helpdesk awaiting a response

Not as many as others! Just the one UKPRN_33 but I've also made a ticket!

Hi Lorna, have you checked your ILR File(s) for a Schema Error at all?

Hi Rebecca, My team have manually added the RIP Price for the 25/26 starts that had R01 error, we haven't added or amended anything to do with hours, and it's got rid of both the RIP Price and HRS errors.

Julie Newman

I have 3 of these errors for 2022 starters and one 2026 checked Apprentice Service against ILR and all correct.  Will await an update.

Hi all, I have just had the response below from the helpdesk:

"Yes, it's a known issue, so for now the rule has been switched off while a defect is corrected.

You can re-submit your data and all those errors should go away.

Regards"

fiona.bailey

Just submitted and its been removed from errors, also received this from the DFE.

Good afternoon,

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by the UKPRN_33 validation errors.

A defect has been identified with this rule and it has now been temporarily switched off while a fix is being implemented. If you are receiving UKPRN_33 errors, please resubmit your ILR data and validate again.

Thank you for your patience while this issue is resolved.

Thanks all for relaying the responses from the DfE - very pleased to hear the errors have now disappeared!

Helen Bryant

Think I may have spoken too soon - we're now getting UKPRN_35 errors. Anyone else?
