R01 & R13 Co-investment showing where not due

Created

None

Is anyone else seeing co-investment owing in R01 and R13 where it is not owing due to young apprentices enrolled with small employers prior to 1/4/24 and with no change of employment?  Am seeing payments owing where none has been for the entirety of the apprenticeships.

I reported it at R01 and was told the use of small employer waiver needed to be approved post 1 April 2024 but I confirmed that these apprentices have been live with their original employers since 2023.

Hi Clair.

We've had the same thing! I've made a ticket with the DFE

Jason Poole (DfE)

Hello both, we are aware this issue has occurred recently and while an initial solution seems to have solved most impacted apprentices, we are still investigating some that remain. If you believe you are still seeing this issue  please contact the support teams with details as this will help us identify the issue, and also to let you know when we believe it is resolved so you can confirm.

When there is an update we will also post details on here.

Hi Jason,

Any update on this ticket? Conscious that R14 is less than a Month away!

Thanks for the nudge Matthew. We have identified the likely cause of this issue and are currently testing a solution. We aim to release this before R14 deadline but it may not go in time for R02. In practice that will mean any corrections due will be made in time for R14 hard close, while corrections in the current funding year would be picked up at R03.

Hi Jason,

Is there anything we need to do as providers, as we have a large number (around 35 learners) in our R13 data that are showing a negative value for co-investment payments in R13 that should be exempt from co-investment contributions due to being 16-18

Hello Andrew Dickens - no action required by any provider affected by this issue as we will carry out any action on your behalf as part of the R14 hard-close. You may notice your last ILR submission gets resubmitted [by us] just after R14which is to ensure the change is applied to any affected learners. The change is still in test and I will update this thread, plus any support tickets opened, once it has been applied, together with any information you need to be aware of (but it should fully solve any impacts).

Sorry for any concern caused by this given the time of year but be assured it is a priority to resolve.
