Submit Learner Data not working

Created

None

Is anybody having any success or trouble accessing SLD this afternoon?  I've been trying for a while to log in to submit an R02 ILR and the website isn't working.

It says:

Sorry, there is a problem with the service

Try again later.

If you continue to have problems, contact the Help and support.I

Having the same issue here. Have had various attempts of getting to different stages but unsuccessful since 3pm

Yes, I'm experiencing the same issue, I'm also struggling to access ELD to export my ILR file.

Ross Andrew

Also experiencing that issue.

Cripes, hadn't even thought about ENTER Learner Data being affected...

Managed to get a file through after an hour or so (and two file renames).

I'm reading that Service Desk/Customer Help are suggesting it's due to the DAS integration which... yeah, sure, that's great, cool...

Do we know any more yet? Still struggling to get anywhere past a whirring our end?

Steve Hewitt

Last I saw they were claiming it was fixed but that doesn't seem to be the experience of users, to put it mildly...

Angela Peck

No, our latest data submission is still spinning.

Same here, can't even get to the "R14 and R02 Open" button :(

Tom Bartlett

Surely there might be an extension given so many providers can't even make a submission?

I just received the following message from the helpdesk:

We are aware that Submit Learner Data (SLD) is currently down and we are working hard to rectify this issue. We will respond to you with further information as soon as possible.

I had asked if there would be an extension, but they did not mention that.  At this time of day, and without any further information, they cannot expect us to keep trying indefinitely, can they?

Darren Vidler

It most definitely is not resolved... can't even get to the main screen.

Steve Hewitt

Also SO ANNOYS me when they post things like this with replies locked... There *has* to be an extension at this point, can't say you're working on a fix less than an hour before close...

Nothing here, been trying since 3pm. Stuck on Collection options!

No official communication from them either..

Steve Hewitt

There never is.

The post here SHOULD have been "there will be a 24 hour extension, please try again in the morning" but no chance...

That would be good customer service Steve...

Indeed - put kids to bed or sit patiently and wait for SLD to come back online... frustrating

Great but the website is still dead

Anna Falcucci

They seriously can't expect providers to accept 1 Hour extension, people have a life after work and everyone going to trying to submit at once.  Something not of our making and very poor communication from the DfE!  They need to extend until tomorrow

Josh Hough

I was just able to submit an R02 file.

Managed to get my return submitted about two minutes ago. Hopefully everyone else has managed to get theirs in as well.

Situations like this are a good reminder that we should all be submitting these returns regularly. If something similar happens in future, the impact will be much smaller because there will be less outstanding information to submit.

Anna Falcucci

Safety are always in, but when those last minute completions come through on day of upload the pressure is on to get them in the upload, that's why there's the end of day upload.

Darren Vidler

Precisely that, Anna. Nobody is realistically waiting until the last minute to do the only submission of the month (or shouldn't be) but, as you say, there are always scenarios that require a late return.

Angela Peck

While it is good to get the ILR submitted, it is also important to get the reporting output - I am not able to see that yet.

Darren Vidler

Managed to submit a moment ago, good luck to anyone still trying

Jason Poole (DfE)

Hello all, apologies once again for the downtime earlier. We restored performance at 5.30 and the queue at that point processed at normal speeds. A number of additional submissions happened up until 7pm and processed as normal. In response to comment from Angela above, reports should be produced as normal but there is often a delay between submission completing and report being posted but let us know if you don't see those in due course.

peter.hancock

Jason Poole Thank you for the update you posted yesterday evening.

Janine Brockwell Thank you for the post you made at 17:04 yesterday to notify us all that you were aware of the issue.

Both of those posts were made out of normal working hours and realistically were not going to be read by many of the people who needed to see them.  It is clear that the problems had existed for at least several hours during yesterday afternoon, during which time many providers had wasted a lot of time trying and re-trying to submit ILRs and also seeking support on this forum and from the support desk.

Two things have disappointed me about this matter:

1) I'd like to know why could a public notice have not been published earlier in the day to acknowledge the problem?

2) When the decision was made (after 5pm) to extend the collection window to 7PM, why could the new deadline have not been today, say at 12PM or 5PM instead?
