Apprenticeship Actual End Date

Created

None

I've heard quite a few different people say that an Apprenticeship Actual End Date isn't necessarily the last date of OTJ. How can that be the case? AED is "The date that the learner completed the learning activities" and says "For apprenticeship standards on a programme aim, the Learning Actual End Date will be completed after all learning has taken place". What learning is happening that isn't OTJ?

I think we've confirmed that English and maths don't get counted towards the programme AED.

I know there's often a bunch of admin and checking things between last OTJ and actually confirming all is ok for gateway, but the AED isn't the date we signed them off as ready, none of the guidance says that. Am I missing something?

Directly from the rules:

Learning actual end date

The date when learning towards the funded apprenticeship ends. This can include off-the-job training and English and maths. There must be evidence of learning on this day. A progress review cannot be used as evidence of learning.

Programme actual end date will be the latest date mandatory learning took place. Admin et al during any sort of "is this person ready to go through gateway" definitely wouldn't count, as you've said. Categorically has to be some kind of learning.ย

I agree with you Ruth, I can't think of a scenario where actual end wouldn't be last day of OTJ

Thanks Chloeย  ๐Ÿ™‚ I understand that people don't always want to publicly announce how they do things, but I keep hearing this, and I really do want to know if people have a legitimate reason for logging the AED as anything other than last OTJ.ย
