If a learner has their final EPA interview on Monday and her last day at her current employer is Monday and a month later we get her results and she passes, can we complete this learner and mark her as achieved?

Or, do we need to withdraw her? If we can complete her and mark her as achieved, what date would we put? We usually put the date we received the results, however in this case I cannot see that works as she would have left her employer before this.

In another situation,

If a learner has their final EPA interview on Monday but her last day at her current employer is on the Friday before, is she able to sit the interview without setting up a new employer on the DAS (new employer doesn’t want to continue the apprenticeship) then we later learn she passes, are we able to mark her as complete and achieved? If we can do this, what date would we put? We usually put the date we received the results, however in this case I can not see that works as she would have left her employer before this.

The achievement date is the day the EPA activities were concluded, which to me is the date the final EPA element was sat, not when the result was communicated to you. In this case your apprentice was employed up to the end of the EPA activities, so you would use the Monday as the achievement date and would claim it.

In terms of the second scenario, you wouldn’t be able to claim as the apprentice needs to be employed up to the end of the EPA activities. You’d therefore likely need to withdraw them unless there are mitigating circumstances E.g. redundancy.
