Ro3 Month End reports Format query

Created

None

Hi I was completing some reconciliation work this morning between the published month end reports and our system (Pics) and kept getting an error when i was importing the Apps co-investment data report from the end of period reports.  I queried this with the developer, and they pointed out ESFA had started issuing some reports in full .XLS format rather than .CSV

I hadn't noticed when doing my import.  Does anyone know why they are issuing some as .XLS and some (app monthly funding) still in CSV?

Thanks

I had the same conversation with our software provider. I've raised a ticket with the ESFA to ask why they've made the change, but you could just open/save it as a .csv in the meantime. Not ideal, but a short-term 'solution'.

Thanks Ben James  That is what i have done.  I'd be interested to know what they say.  Just seems odd that they would do 50/50 on the formats, i could understand to an extent if they'd done all of them!

Yeah I was a bit puzzled! Seems a completely arbitrary change from R14 to R01/02/03. I'll post as/when I get a reply!

Had a response from the ESFA:

Afternoon Ben,

We have discussed your query with our technical team regarding the format change and the report only being available as an XLSX file. This was requested by our internal Funding Team, and we will be reinstating the Co-Investment CSV report.

Timescales have not yet been agreed. We are currently awaiting an update of when the CSV version of the report will be made available on Submit Learner Data.

Kind regards

Not an 'explanation' per se, but at least they're reverting it back to the .csv

Ben James Thanks for the update.  I did also raise it, but not had a response yet.

Not really an explanation, more an "oops we may have messed up" i guess.  Still at least it is being rectified
