Thanks Karen, We were thinking about the self declaration as an option but seems like you have already got the answer, sadly. Additional checks it is :( Kind regards Wayne

Hi all, I'd like to know whether providers are now doing double share code checks? One for the dependent and one for those they are dependent on? Really annoying as adding in that seasonal workers not being eligible, you don't know they are a seasonal worker without an additional check. Kind regards Wayne

Hi Jo, As far as i'm aware its all apprenticeships, minimum duration of 8 months. Kind regards Wayne Apprenticeship Funding Rules 2025/2026 v2 71. The provider must confirm that, after all relevant prior learning and experience has been taken into account, the apprenticeship practical period lasts for a minimum duration of 8 months. For example, to satisfy this requirement, an apprentice who starts their training on 1 August 2025 must still be receiving training on 31 March 2026. 71.1. The apprenticeship standard specification or assessment plan may require this practical period of training to be longer, to support the delivery of the full apprenticeship content. 71.2. The end-point assessment can only be taken after the minimum duration has been met.

Hi Tracy, Well if that is the case then that is ridiculous as its in the current 2025/2026 rules stating its from August, its very poor planning and typical of this sector over the last four years. Wayne

Initial assessment results came out as working towards Level 1 (1.5) thus 50% of the way towards the Level 1. Maybe on that basis, you could assume you claim 50% funding left?

I'd agree with Steve and have had several situations similar to what you have mentioned. Ultimately are they still in learning and covering the active learning rules, i.e one a month for day release etc. The longer they have a break then the more disengaged they might become, just got to weigh up the pros and cons. Also depends how long term they will be off work with the employer and ensure they are still employed under an apprenticeship agreement etc.

Hi Steve, Thanks for that, as far as data accuracy would you put the proposed start date for the competency component aim as e.g June 2026 in the future as opposed to matching the start date of the programme. I totally get the funding and achivement rates wont be effected but just was worried about data accuracy and whether it should show in the ILR for the current academic year or be put as a future date which will drop in when the aim is eventually undertaken Appreciate the advice. Wayne

Steve, Whats would your best practice be for qualifications delivered for example in the third year of a apprenticeship. Ideally you want it on the training plan and on the system so it doesn't get missed. Would you put it in with the proposed start date in the future but register the learners now? thanks Wayne
