Thanks, Chris. I only ask as I once found that ZZ99 9ZZ was used on prisoners, but this seemed to be amended each academic year. Just needed to check for Audit purposes.

Thank you for your reply, Ruth. I will speak with my colleague who deals with the HESES24, and will contact the OfS too, and take it from there. Many thanks.

Hi Ruth Our College Group delivers both prescribed, and non-prescribed HE courses, so yes, we do have a relationship with OfS. I wasn't too sure if posting this request here was correct, but we are now required to return HE data on all Level 4 courses and above. I was fairly confident that the data is only looked at by the end of the academic year (R14), so like yourself, my hunch was to report the outcome of the year. Thank you very much for your reply and thoughts.

Thank you, Steve. I believed that to be the case, so thank you for the clarification.

I agree with yourself too, Ruth. These years of instance/reporting are pretty complicated, and made even more so by trying to apply this (and the other HE rules) to Level 4 Apprenticeships with zero guidance.

Thank you very much for your guidance, and I shall use what you have suggested for the year of study. I agree, I wish this could be made oh so much simpler!

We do create a new enrolment for each academic year over the duration of the Apprentice programme. From what you're saying, about the HE data being looked at at the end of the year, I should use Year of Study = 2 as half-way through the 20/21 year they reach the next year of instance?

Thank you, Joanne. The years of instance I do understand, but it is how I would record them that is my issue. So for my 20/21 enrolment, what value would i use for the Study Year - 1 or 2, as the year of instance changes part way through 20/21. My initial reaction is 1 as we are still in the first year of study upon their 20/21 enrolment.

Martin - Understood, thank you. Just one last thing so I'm clear in my mind about this - If I 'continue' the learner into the following academic year, and then transfer them (per your reply), do I still use the last day of learning from the previous year (i.e 26/06/22) if they don't actual attend a lesson in the new year of the aim they are transferring off of?
