Our PPED includes learner post gateway as well. What Chris suggests above might work (i.e. coding gateway as 2 and 8) but the ILR specification states For apprenticeship standards, the learning activities for the programme aim include both the training and end point assessment. Code 2 must only be used for the apprenticeship standard programme aim where both the training and end point assessment activities have been completed. So we have tension between AAF approach and the ILR specification. I have raised a query with DfE, will post here if I hear back.

Apprenticeship Service Engagement it would be good to have definitive guidance on submitting learner records with future start dates please. Current validation rules indicate that a start date can be up to 1 year in the future but the financial record cannot be so the rules are contradictory. If we are moving towards using the ILR to update the AS, we need the ability to do that, which is not the case at the moment and there is a significant manual intervention required to exclude the learners for an error-free submission.

Hi, I raised this query with the Helpdesk a while back and they confirmed that the flexibilities can be applied to any level, it's just a case of evidencing that the correct assessments have taken place etc.

Hi All, I am just checking again and some of them disappeared from R05, some from R06. All bar one should still be on programme (one had a backdated withdrawal) so I don't understand how they just dropped off the ILR. We use Maytas, the returns were error free. Do we just need to force them back in and how do we do that?

Thank you Martin. I am aware of the AAF but don't have that function in VYED. I'll contact DfE to clarify.

Thank you Steveh. 23A-504 has less than what ESFA quoted and I can't see anything on VYED on PPED. I've got one FRM report, which I am aware of but nothing else. I am either looking in the wrong place or my access is out of date. Which section are you looking at?

Thank you, that's helpful. We don't have a certificate this time round, just the signed report. Can't see that the 22/23 Rules make a specific reference to a certificate?

Thank you, this is helpful but I am still a bit confused! The guidance says: The original employer must stop payments through their apprenticeship service account, using a stop date that corresponds with the date the apprentice changed employer. So if an apprentice leaves their old employer on 15th July and start with a new one on 16th July, then the old employer is only responsible for the costs up until June and the new one picks up the full July cost, stop and start dates are both in July. I am not sure how we are going to manage it with the employer - we will have to calculate the residual costs based on the apprentice being there for the full month. Any suggestions? Thank you! Gosia
