Change of Employer after Jan 26- Senior Leader

Created

None

Hi All,

Has anyone had any change of employers for a senior leader apprenticeship in Jan 26? Just wondered how DAS would allow this as I tried entering an apprentice on DAS for this standard and it advises they need to be below 25. Would DAS allow this through a change of employer through the old employer record? Any advice would be appreciated

Hearing that people in this situation are stuffed. Haven't had it expressly confirmed by DfE/AS but, apparently, change employer and no more funding...

This is *incredibly* unusual but appears to be how the system is currently set up, whether on purpose or through lack of joined-up thinking...

I was told a withdrawal and restart after Jan 2026 wasn't possible for anyone 25+, but not allowing a change of employer would be a shocking move. I've get on the the Apprenticeship Service and see what they say. Have you tried doing the Change of Employer process against the existing DAS record, rather than trying to create a new DAS record from scratch?

Thank you for your responses, we have also contacted the Helpdesk for further clarification on this. We are also awaiting employer permissions to try the change of employer route through the existing DAS record. Very surprised that this has not been thought through to the point it seems we will disadvantage apprentice's taking breaks for MAT leave, illness and changing employers.

We have run into this issue this week, we were able to process the change of employer against the existing stopped DAS record, but the new employer is getting an error relating to the date of birth when trying to approve the cohort request that it has generated.

Did either if you manage to resolve your respective issues? Encountering similar and thought I'd check before speaking to the desk personally. Mightily frustrating.
