Thanks Steve, I agree with the first paragraph - going ahead would likely only present an issue come audit but that isn't a risk we'd want to take despite us being of the view that this is a barrier to some potential apprentices. I think we could get evidence from our clients to support the disconnect between the progression routes and reality, I'm just not sure who we'd go to to query/challenge. Would it be IfATE?

Completely agree with you - we've had push back from applicants, our own staff and employers (quite rightly in my opinion).

Ours is our CEO, Director of Quality & Compliance and one of our NEDs so we've got some expertise from within the business function, then SLT representation and NED which I believe meets the requirements as outlined in Chris' response above.

Melanie Aspinall we didn't really get anywhere unfortunately however, as Steve says, the new rules have a clash around the need for evidence of the time available.

Simon Liversedge can you recall which report it was that you found starts by standard and provider on? I've been trawling the data but can't locate them.

I'd be interested to know the outcome of this Tracy Clement if you don't mind sharing once you've spoken to the ESFA?

Ah, it only seems to have 21/22 data included so I'll have to wait for the 22/23 dataset to be added

Thanks Steve! Thought I'd checked all the files but clearly not... problem solved.

Interestingly this came up in discussion today. My view is very much in keeping with Ruth's. Our current approach to to report the non-mandatory aims as we're delivering them at request of the employer. They're not included in the costings and are delivered as a value add because they want a qualification they recognise, despite it not being a funded element of the apprenticeship. Also agree with the point about potential OTJ conflicts and the challenge in identifying those instances.
