I feel the pain, where there is overlapping dates and you cannot get the old employer to close the record then you've got to go direct to the helpdesk and ask them to close it down. They will contact the old employer and if they don't have any luck then they will close it down for you, but this can take around 6 weeks from my experience. You can then go into the old stopped record and hit the change of employer button and this will allow you to backdate the date from what I've seen. Hope this helps WH
