I'm a little late to the party.. but I attended an Apprenticeship PDSAT training session through EducationScape with Karl Bentley, who told us to use PDSAT to ensure that we haven't recorded SEM where an apprentice is ineligible due to their age, as it's unnecessary. We've always taken this approach anyway and have never been queried. I think I'll be sticking with that personally.

Hi Sean Holman, I have this issue with several reports too and have also raised this with the helpdesk. Since moving to online, PDSAT is down more often than it works..

Thank you for the update - not the answer I wanted but the answer I expected. I have also raised a similar concern with the helpdesk but will make a start on resolving any issues highlighted in FRM37. Others have raised concerns over the accuracy of this monitoring report on JISC, so I expect them to make similar enquiries. Who knows, maybe we'll be listened to.. or maybe they'll just strengthen the rules with a clarification!

Hi Helen Wilshaw Hairdressing was updated on both the Institute of Apprenticeships and in LARS on 23/05/2023. As mentioned above, the spreadsheet distributed by the ESFA has not been updated however we have recorded the new TNP on our documentation and systems based on this knowledge. Thanks

Ian Barrett, I'm considering adding a statement to the apprenticeship agreement which confirms that the agreement is in place for the duration of the programme, including EPA and any re-sits. This would only be to cover those that go beyond their planned end date, where not managed by a break in learning, as a new agreement would be sent out in those scenarios on return. The resources required to send out and track returns of multiple apprenticeship agreements would be huge, and so I'm hoping this would suffice. I e-mailed the ESFA yesterday to check this would satisfy the clarification and was pretty much told that they couldn't answer my question until the 1st August 2023 when the new rules came into play. Not particularly helpful when this is a document that must be in place prior to the start date, and you could have apprenticeship starts on the 1st August.. but there we go! Would be interesting to hear other views on this.

Thank you. Just as-long as we haven't missed anything! I knew there used to be something.

Hi @..., Have you uploaded the FIS CSV or the raw ILR file? Uploading the raw ILR file causes some of the reports to show with 0 records and so that's what I would be checking first. I know that the NI report is definitely one of those!

Hi @..., We use Cognassist to assess for learning support needs as part of our initial assessment but we then produce our own support plan based on the findings. This allows us to not only indicate how we will meet the needs of that individual apprentice, but also relate it to the specific apprenticeship standard. Thanks

Hi all, I've just had the response from the helpdesk below.. pretty much invalidating the measure on the AAF dashboard in my opinion.. Good afternoon Please see update below: All your learner's must meet the eligibility of the 20% off the job training for an apprenticeship learner: -Apprenticeship funding rules 2023 to 2024 (publishing.service.gov.uk) ( Page 41 -especially 73.1). Please note these rules have been in place since 2017. Off-the-job training (OTJT) Calculator and FRM 37 Report We have provided an OTJT calculator to help providers check compliance with the policy. To keep this as simple as possible, the start point (duration in weeks and the end point (minimum number of OTJT hours) are rounded to a full number. Statutory leave is not rounded. You do not need to use this calculator if you have your own. However, you must be satisfied that your calculation is in line with the funding rules. Note that if you are not using rounding, you may get a different result to the GOV.UK calculator; these learners may appear on the FRM 37 report and monitored as one of the indicators in the Apprenticeship Accountability Framework. If you are satisfied that the OTJT policy is being met, you don’t need to make any changes to these learners’ planned hours. Kind regards

Hi, Accessing the dashboard To access the post-16 monitoring dashboard, you will need to log into View your education data. You will need an IDAMS account with the ‘view your education data – post-16 monitoring’ user role and associated with a UKPRN to access the dashboard securely. You will need to contact your super user to be able to increase your permissions if required. Please be aware that there is a lot of dispute over this specific funding and monitoring report - you might be interested in: Further education and training providers community - FRM37 Planned/Actual off the job hours Further education and training providers community - OTJT hours calculator
