I agree its not in the learners best interest to have to pay out that's why I was hoping it was detailed somewhere so I could provide the employer with clarification

Hi Kelly, Thank you. The employer rules E59.3 tells you that the apprentice cannot be asked to contribute to "eligible" costs. However as this is a student membership fee linked to a mandatory diploma I am reading it as an "Ineligible" costs so that's why I am unsure if the employer can expect or ask the apprentice to pay for it or if there are any rules around this. Thanks for your help Kelly, the search goes on. I have asked the desk but they have given a 10 day SLA for the answer :)
