The funding rules require: If, at the beginning of the programme, the apprentice works fewer than 30 hours a week you must extend the expected duration of the apprenticeship on the ILR (pro rata) to take account of this. Where a part-time working pattern is needed, you must agree with the employer and the apprentice the extended apprenticeship duration. I don’t think it can be any clearer. HTH

As the SOF is 105 would it not be 39 Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA)?

Straight onto L2. As you cannot claim funding for the L1 where assessment indicates they are working at level 1 standard. From the funding rules Apprentices must start, continue to study and take the assessment for level 2 English and maths (functional skills level 2 or GCSE). If they do not achieve a level 2, you must then ensure they take the assessment for level 1 English and/or maths – this is because they must secure the level 1 qualification in order to complete their apprenticeship. There were known issues for this report at R05, R07 and R08, It is only the entitlement to first L2 that is fully funded any subsequently aim should be co-funded unless the learner is returned as unemployed.

The split for monthly payments is always 80% of the negotiated costs together with a completion payment of 20%. You are confusing the completion payment with the EPA costs but there is no relationship in the payments.

It should be a level above what they were assessed at,, working towards level 1 would require they undertake L1 as they are not assessed as at level 1.

Functional skill qualifications are funded at £724 for all other funding streams other than Apprenticeships that are only funded at £471. Where minimum training is required APL is not applied but you still claim full funding. It is always advisable to include some training even if it is only revision and preparation training as you cannot claim for examination without training.

That should be ok as they will have spent at least 50% of their working hours in England over the duration of the apprenticeship.
