I have also raised the question of the Completion Status/Outcome with DfE, as there seems to be a clear conflict between the description on the dashboard ("it will now track the number of apprentices who are past their planned end date and have not yet reached gateway, excluding those who have completed training and are awaiting end-point assessment") and the definition which includes learners coded 1/8. I will share the response when I get it. Martin Outlaw our dashboard also seems to exclude a couple of learners who are past planned end date by more than one day but fewer than 30.

Ruth Canham-James the problem I have had is with the dates for the FS aim. The start date for FS is after the PPED for the ZPROG - and therefore obviously the real planned end date for FS will be too. I don't know if I am allowed to put start and/or planned end dates for a FS aim that fall after the planned end date for the ZPROG (even if there is no actual end date yet for the ZPROG)? I was assuming that I couldn't. Emily Fairbrother the response I got today from DfE helpdesk is as follows: “you can record the engagement on the ILR: open FM 36 aims that relate to that with a start and planned end date matching the engagement using the restart indicator (if there is no funds left to claim then the TNP should be zero) add the functional skills aims and then that’s it.” Does that make sense to you? as I am not sure what they are saying if I am honest.

Hi Emily I have just submitted this exact query to the DfE Help Portal and will let you know what they advise.

Thanks Ruth Canham-James. Your thoughts echo mine, and reflect what we are doing so that is good news! We also work with some big employers who have a lot of sites, many of which are tiny - the requirements around the EDRS, and the difficulty of searching for sites, was one of my biggest headaches when I started doing this job.

Hi Charmaine, I can't help but I have the same issue (posted about it earlier this morning). I have messaged the DfE to ask and will let you know what they say. I don't imagine it will be a quick answer though.

Hi Peter Is your question about claiming a laptop under ELS for a learner with an identified learning need? or for a learner without identified needs?

Yes, the guidance is really unclear and the difference in terminology between different systems, screens and documents really doesn't help.

The ESFA confirmed to me when I asked a similar question that DAS is supposed to use overall end dates including EPA. My interpretation of that guidance is that the Learning Provider paragraphs refer to the ILR - it mentions achievement date and also a YYYY-MM-DD date format, neither of which is applicable to the DAS. The Employer section specifically refers to the DAS and is clear that the projected end date should include the EPA period. Our organisation are both an employer and a provider and this is how I do things.

Hi Gill This document confirms that LSF can be claimed for EPA. Page 5: "Learning support funding is to be used by apprenticeship providers to make reasonable adjustments to support an apprentice who has learning difficulties or disabilities so that- they are able to complete their apprenticeship. This could include any reasonable adjustments to complete English and maths requirements and the end-point assessment." As the ILR doesn't allow you to claim LSF for dates after the last date in learning, I assume that costs for reasonable adjustments during the gateway/EPA period need to be claimed using an Earnings Adjustment Statement.
