What Ben said is right. Another way of updating the Apprenticeship Service is for employer1 to stop the learner, employer2 gives permission to the training provider to create a cohort, then the training provider can update the details and make a 'change of employer request' for employer2 to approve. It's sometimes easier to update the details yourself and just let the employer approve! Thanks Ben! I thought that rule had gone but I spoke to a provider adamant that it was still in use and it got me doubting myself.

I'm not disagreeing with Steve's conclusion here (I don't think...) but this from the PSM makes it seem less clear to me: Entitlement to 16-18 apprenticeship funding where the learner is 19 or over. Record EEF code 2 when: • the apprentice is restarting a programme on or after their 19th birthday and was aged 16 to 19 when they originally started. It only says restarting a programme and doesn't specify BILs only. And isn't this scenario a restart now?

Use LDM code 356. This flags it as your own staff and you don't need to pay co-investment. Be mindful that you should only claim for costs of the apprenticeship and not make profit for delivering to your own staff.

Wonderfully ambiguous as always! But I think the areas you've referenced do imply it, thanks Steve :)

Hi Steve, Please can you point me in the direction to where it says employers need to be paid within 30 days? I couldn't see it in the app technical funding guide but I know you're right!
