Agree. I know colleagues at other institutions who've always used the 'award date' for aims as the Learning Actual End Date, rather than the last date they engaged in structured learning.. simply because (and I can see the logic) that is the point at which they know "the learner completed the learning activities necessary to achieve the learning aim", and so no further learning is required.

Assuming you're talking about the 'achievement date' you'll probably get people giving you different answers to be honest. It's defined as "the date the end point assessment period for the programme was completed, whether the outcome was a success or a failure" which you could reasonably construe both ways. They completed the EPA on the date they finished taking it so I'd argue this is the date you use and that actually the result is irrelevant for the purposes of adding the 'achievement' date, so why base it on the date you're informed? I'd be interested to see what other people are doing.

It's rubbish. The system should accommodate the situation, not the other way round. The updated guidance reflects what they've told you - Stop dates to use following a change of employer where the gap in employment is 30 days or less – Apprenticeship Service Support (education.gov.uk), but when you're putting something like "If the original employer does not want to move the stop date" then you're asking for issues.

Yes, but only if the recorded activity imparted new learning to the individual to help them achieve the required KSBs set out in the standard.

The apprenticeship confirmation doesn't really have any bearing on anything to be honest! The guidance confirms that "Whilst the setting up of a 'My apprenticeship' account is encouraged, it is not mandatory and will not impact the apprenticeship start date or your apprenticeship funding." Can the employers tell you what exactly their issue is? Would help in figuring out where exactly the blockage is. Otherwise, perhaps signpost them to this video from the ESFA which may/may not help - Apply for an incentive payment for hiring a new apprentice - for new hires from 1 April 2021 - YouTube

Hopefully this helps - Confirm my apprenticeship details – Apprenticeship Service Support (education.gov.uk). Those showing as 'confirmed' will have completed this process, those showing as 'unconfirmed' will not.

The error you're getting is because the ACT 'Date applies to' field has not been populated with the Actual End Date. You're terminating (albeit temporarily) the programme, so it expects the ACT 'Date applies to' field to match either the Actual End Date, or the Achievement Date if this is known.

We've also had one. sigh. Agree with Steve though. Principle 1: The ILR must accurately describe the provision delivered to each learner 84. The data you record on the ILR must accurately reflect the journey for the learner and what has happened. Inaccurate information must never be entered even where it is perceived that this would result in a more equitable claim for funding or accurate record of performance.

Have you changed the 'ACT Applies To' date to match the Achievement Date?
