@... That is very good to hear, and corresponds with what we see in the report. Thank you so much for sharing.

They've not updated the reports yet: I believe the answer to your query is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/esfa-update-27-march-2024/esfa-update-further-education-27-march-2024 ...providers will continue to receive monthly payments representing 95% of the agreed price for training and assessment until June, when backdated payments for April and May for the 5% balance of funding will be made.

We have a bunch of those too, and I just assumed they were ok given there was no money showing owing, and we had received the completion payment. But given the examples from Steve H and I think in the past part of an LSECT (when they were LSECT) seminar about issues with these parts of pennies I'm now very interested in what they say.

So yes, co-investment report is wrong.

Ruth Canham-James Connor Goulding Steve Hewitt I've just received a reply from the Specialist support team at the App service helpdesk and they have said the opposite of what your helpdesk person did regarding the need to return the SEM: The Specialist Support team have been in touch today to let us know: For the 16-21 year old cohort, you no longer need to record the SEM code. We are currently in the process of updating the Technical Funding Guide so that this aligns with the recent policy change. An updated Tech funding guide would be nice given the "current" one is "from 2020" and last updated in May 2021!

Ruth Canham-James The only solutions I can see are: - Just leave it and accept that it's not fair. - Scrap the co-investment for all 16-21, even current levy payers with insufficient funds. - Create a mechanism for employers to revert to a non-levy account. Yep! Here's hoping it will be option 2...

I believe that should be fine as minimum duration AND minimum actual OTJ have been met. You will need a summary statement as well as the updated AA and TP, as they have not completed all the planned hours.

Steve Hewitt 1 and 3 as I expected, but good to have that confirmed. Regarding scenario 2 I'm still not clear about this. There's this paragraph: 75.5. If planned off-the-job training is unable to take place as scheduled in any calendar month, a retrospective break in learning is not required as long as there is active learning in the following calendar month. The provider must ensure that all missed activity is re-planned and delivered, so that the full content of the training plan can still be delivered. I'm assuming as everyone else seems to be that "in any calendar month" means, "for a full calendar month". I hope that's correct? So, if OTJ is unable to take place as scheduled in September (which is the only missed full calendar month in this scenario), then surely a break is not required as there is active learning in the following calendar month? The re-planning bit seems to not be a caveat but an instruction that we must re-plan? (and of course we must). Is there something I've missed somewhere that contradicts this?

Excellent news! Now the wait until R13 period end reports come out to see if it has worked.

Darren Vidler Istvan Ladunga Not counting my chickens before they are hatched, but I received a reply today, with authorisation to use the EAS (my understanding is that it it is a category where you have to have prior authorisation/instruction to use it). Also, the issue in our case was that the apprentice had previously been on an apprenticeship that was still in our data. We hadn't got our ducks in a row to claim it then (Delivery didn't know about the bursary, I didn't know we had a care leaver...), and of course the start date was in a previous funding year, so we recorded it on the second apprenticeship. We've now been told to record it on the first apprenticeship and use the EAS. While this likely isn't the same scenario, it does give some hope that the ESFA are willing to make some allowances and that there is a mechanism to by-pass their restrictions. No idea why all my metaphors are bird based today.... (PS we hadn't known that the 2 apprenticeships was an issue, hence why I hadn't mentioned it before)
