A community learning aim has been used. Community learning aims are not valid for any funding stream in 25-26, and I don't think should have been used on an apprenticeship at all, although I can see that this clearly used to validate. I think this one should have been used, if I've got the right apprenticeship: https://submit-learner-data.service.gov.uk/find-a-learning-aim/StandardLearningAims/262 To change the aims over, follow this guidance, except that you will not be able to include the Community learning aim in this year's ILR at all, as it is completely invalid. https://guidance.submit-learner-data.service.gov.uk/provider-support-manual/article/makingchanges-and-correcting-errors-psm#article-Continuing%20learners%20who%20have%20an%20incorrect%20learning%20aim%20reference,%20or%20funding%20model

That's a digit too short, and all of the aim I can find that are similar are Community learning aims. Can you provide the full aim ref, and possibly the name of the qualification?

You are welcome. Bootcamps aren't the most straightforward thing to record and while I've made leaps and bounds in understanding in the last week, I'm still expecting to have got things wrong somewhere. I know others are struggling too. My apprenticeship experience has both been a help from a date/other funding fields being in alignment point of view and a hinderance. I was so used to recording programmes as 1, 8 WITH an actual end date, that I didn't notice the guidance specified NOT returning an actual end date.

There's a help article here about that: https://help.apprenticeships.education.gov.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/360011550760-How-to-reserve-funding Just in case you don't know, there's a whole bunch of articles aimed at employers (but often more helpful to us) here: https://help.apprenticeships.education.gov.uk/hc/en-gb/sections/360001841359-Employer And ones aimed at providers here: https://help.apprenticeships.education.gov.uk/hc/en-gb/sections/360002328100-Training-provider I will warn that you do often have to read a few and combine them together to get a full picture of what to do, as they are VERY specific to small parts of the process, and we usually need to know the next few steps, not just the next step.

Yes, programme aim 1, 8 without the actual end date if they've not had a event, until they reach the 6 month point. Then 2, 3 if still no event. Yes, that does mean adding an actual end date in a previous year if the 6 months crosses into a new funding year. This will happen for anyone who does not have an event whose latest learning actual end date is in Feb-July. I wouldn't characterise entering an actual end date that is in a previous year as "not allowed". It's certainly not what we SHOULD be doing for other funding streams, unless there has been a mistake or omission. With other funding streams the actual end date would affect the funding we should have received in a previous year, so that's why we need to ensure things are closed by R14. My understanding (which is likely not complete yet) is that putting in an actual end date on the Skills Bootcamp programme aim for a previous year won't affect the funding in that previous year at all, so entering it (as per the instructions) will not be an issue.

For anyone finding this in the future, the answer was right there in the guidance, but being used to a similar status for apprenticeship programmes, I did not see it! Thanks to DFE helpdesk for pointing out that the status is to be 1, 8, but the actual end date should NOT be returned. This should mean that CompStatus_02 would not be triggered. Haven't tested to see if 1,8 by itself works, but am hopeful. UPDATE: It works. Validation rules CompStatus_05 allows it.

Leah Liston Did you ever get a solution to this? I've just coded our learners who are NOT 6 months past their end date as 1, 8 exactly as the guidance says and of course it doesn't like it, because validation rules only exclude FM36 and FM99 apprenticeship programmes from having a continuing status and an end date (CompStatus_02). Going to ask the helpdesk, but wondering if you had an answer?

I don't know for sure. We use EBS and it's not called that. However, there aren't any fields with "Franchising" in the name in the current ILR spec, so I suspect it might be the correct field, it's just got an old name. I'd give it a go and see if it creates errors. If it doesn't then I'd submit a file, then check column AX "Sub contracted or partnership UKPRN" of the Apps Indicative report to see if it turns up.

That's where the Validation rules are?!! Thank you all. However, you'd think they'd be in the section called "Validation rules"... right?!
