Is there still a problem with logging into VYED? I'm getting the same message as some of you guys did earlier in the week but note some of you have since been able to log in to it. Is it a case that I just have to keep trying or should it be reported as still an ongoing issue?

When I queried this I was told that in effect our calculations were rounding weeks down instead of rounding them up, hence ours are showing around 6 hours short of what they are saying they should be. They also said "It is important to remember that the FRM 37 report is a monitoring report used as an aide to ensure you are going to fulfil the OTJ requirements. You are unable to change the planned hours once submitted but your funding won’t be affected if you ensure you meet the threshold in the ‘actual hours’." Thankfully we tend to deliver way more than the minimum OJH.

I currently have a learner in a similar position. How did you resolve this one Andy?

Looks like although the Employer SEM code was set to "Small", the Employer Band was set as "Medium" when the new employer was set up. Fingers crossed, correcting that will sort this out. Thanks again Steve for your suggestion regarding the SEM flag

Thanks Steve - I will give that a look. The new employer is indeed a SEM - so I think that may be my first port of call

Thanks Ruth. I've had it queried though by my SMT, would the remaining 80% funding not be paid though regardless of completing early? So although I can see here, why the December earnings have been claimed back (like as you say if they were a withdrawal), what about the remaining delivery funding? Or would this get lumped in with the outcome payment once EPA is undertaken. I think I've almost answered my own follow up question here - in that the Agency treat the early completion as a potential withdrawal until the outcome is known.

If a provider had to take the stop back to the original start date and new apprenticeship record needs to be created, does that mean that the by doing so, the original reservation of funds still stands? I was under the impression that reservations couldn't be backdated so if this isn't the case, I can't quite see how this would work.

Thanks Martin. Seems to contradict P74.3.1 about being unemployed and therefore ineligible - (ignoring for this query those who become sole traders etc). Maybe it should state in P74.3.1, if they are made unemployed but find a new employer go to P313. Think it would have also been helpful if they had included what is shown in P313 within P274 regarding "Change of Circumstances" - which surely a change of employer albeit not through redundancy this would be.

You can run audit papers through the PDSATs - though it may not be exactly the same learners in their sample, depending on how many learners you have, some may appear in the set you run and the set the auditor runs. From these you can see the audit test questions they will be reviewing against though. From experience, to a degree, some auditors will look at certain things more black and white than others when it comes to reviewing the documentation.
