Hi, I do understand this rule in relation to recording actual OTJ hours for apprentices completing/withdrawing, but do they need to be recorded for an apprentice going on a BIL? Thanks, Christine

Am I right in thinking it will only apply for apprentices changing employer from 1st August? Just need to get it right in my head, as I know I will get all the questions :). Thanks

In relation to this new rule regarding change of employer and break in learning, this is now applicable to all apprentices regardless of start date - see exceptions in version 2 of the rules. My question is although they are on a BIL would you need to add a new employment status?

Hi both, I put the same question to the ESFA & have eventually received a reply today, their response being: [image] I am sure their reply is wrong and you are both correct .

I thought that would be the case, but for anything with a start date of 21/22 I can remove prior to R14? Thanks

Surely then, even if they have a L1 exemption and they are coming out at working below level 1 after completing IAs & full diagnostics, they would be disadvantaged having to study L2?

Hi, Further to this, for a level 2 apprenticeship what if a learner holds a L1 exemption, ie grade 2 GCSE, but when completing diagnostics they are only coming out at Entry 3 or below? Would we be funded for them to complete L1 FS? I understand if they don't hold any exemptions and are assessed at working towards L2 they need to be enrolled to L2, although if they then struggle to pass the assessment, they can then take the L1 test to meet the requirements of the standard, is that right? The funding rules totally contradict themselves, no wonder we fall foul to them. Thanks, Christine

Hi, so you would use a BIL after 30 days rather than withdrawal as stated in P265.1.2? Is this rule only for new starts from 1st August 2022? Thanks, Christine

Hi was just searching for items on this subject - we have a learner who went on a BIL and we had claimed all funding for one of the FS, she has returned but we are still delivering teaching for the same FS, do we need to add 0 for funding remaining? Thanks, Christine
