Alas my memory was right- although it is possible to edit the ULN for an apprentice which hasn't started, once they have started and they have been included on an ILR, it cannot be changed on DAS. The helpdesk advised: 1. the employer should stop the apprenticeship on DAS (stopping from month 1) 2. The employer can then set up a new apprenticeship starting month 1, and the provider can add the correct ULN. 3. The provider then amends the ILR and submits.

For future reference, the Non Regulated Learning aim for each standard is listed on Find a Learner Aim under the Standard > Component Aims and in the Funding bands spreadsheet.

Can I add a follow-up: how should this be managed on the DAS?

The guidance says after gateway: "The actual off-the-job training hours figure (rounded to the nearest whole hour) should be populated once at the end of the programme only. It should be populated after the actual learning end date field is populated, and before the end point assessment period is entered. The field should only be entered for apprentices reaching gateway; it does not need to be input for withdrawn learners or restarted learning aims." https://guidance.submitlearnerdatabeta.fasst.org.uk/ilr/governance/otjacthours "https://guidance.submitlearnerdatabeta.fasst.org.uk/ilr/governance/otjacthours

For Funding Model 36, when starting a break, you need to edit the ACT1 record "Date to" changed to the Actual end date.

In case this helps: the issue is that the Learner Entry Tool 'Actual hours' entry (eg 323) incorrectly creates an XML entry <Phours>323</PHours> rather than <ActHoursOTJ>323</ActHoursOTJ>. Because there is already a Planned Hours entry for that learner and there can only be 1, it triggers a validation error. Removing the entry in Actual hours allows the ILR to be uploaded.
