I have checked and it does show 6 (BIL) but the payments are there for the restart, I think this may be an issue with the payments report as they should be shown as continuing. HTH

Hi Yvonne, I would check the validation and the Dlock reports to see if there is any reason they have been excluded from the payments report. Other than that, are they shown on the indicative report as due earnings in the period Aug to Oct?. HTH

Hi, While I can understand the rational in your argument for extending the original duration on a return from a BIL this may be seen as a method of circumventing the general rule not to change the planned end date (planned duration) where timely achievement is recorded (AEB, FM 35 and FM 36 Frameworks). While currently timely achievement is not included for standards the change in 2018/19 to record the planned end date as the end of the practical period was introduced to enable reporting this in future QAR’s. HTH

Hi, It is normal to extend the planned end date by the length of the BIL therefore retaining the original planned duration of training, a BIL should not be used to change the duration of the original planned end date as it is a requirement that the original duration and planned end date must not be changed. HTH

Hi, When training towards the practical period has been completed and the following statement required by the funding rules has been completed the Apprentices is at the gateway point. P356.2 signed statement by employer and provider that the apprentice meets the gateway requirements and is ready to undertake end-point assessment; Their may be a delay in starting the end point assessment with the EPAO and the EPA will have a specified time for the EAP in the assessment specification, this will all take time at least 7 days but possibly much longer so there must be a gap between end of training and completion of the EPA. HTH

Hi, Where an Apprentice Transfers to you on the same programme you would use the restart indicator but not return the original learning start date. From the guidance: You only record the original learning start date if the learner is restarting the learning aim at the same provider. The Restart indicator should only be used if the learner is returning to a learning aim they have previously started on, for example after a break in learning or if the learner has transferred from studying the same learning aim with another provider. HTH

Hi Steve, I do not agree with the answer given by the ESFA as the documentation (PSM) only covers resits of aims and not EPA resits. See the following: Recording retakes and resits If a learner undertakes a learning aim, finishes learning, takes the final assessment and fails, then this aim should be closed and recorded as ‘not achieved’ (Outcome code 3). Where this learner is then identified as needing further support or additional learning in order to pass the assessment, then a new learning aim should be recorded as a restart with a Funding adjustment for prior learning to account for the new learning required to pass the resit. You must not amend the original, closed learning aim. Where no further learning is required and the learner is only resitting the assessment or exam, then this is not funded by the ESFA and a new aim must not be recorded. This applies to aims so if you have closed the Programme aim how do you record an EPA resit outcome?
