Only limited companies have register at Companies House, we certainly do not expect our employers to appear there, if we did we would not have many construction apprentices ! To get an AS account they have to link to their PAYE ? would this not prove their validity ?

Does the principal of the company want to be an apprentice ? if so no you can't do this. But their staff can be. I think the term Sole Trader is not the right term here. A sole trader is someone who is indistinguishable from their employment e.g. a person who works on their own as a builder, baker or cabinet maker (other jobs are available) To get philosophical a sole trader can't have an apprentice as once they have an apprentice they are no longer a sole trader ? With 12 employees this person sounds more like a sole principal and can't be an apprentice as neither a sole principal nor a sole trader have someone to manage them.

Yes, we still have a service agreement with employers. We include it in our multi multi tabbed Excel Training Plan (AKA commitment statement)

Not as such, this link is to a doc that lists the equivalency. Ultimately it is up to the EPAO as to what they are willing to accept https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/970555/Apprenticeship_standards_English_and_maths_list.ods

I think this is a unit within a larger GNVQ qualification. I don't think it would exempt the learner as it would not have been externally examined. If the learner is doing a standard then it would be up to the EPAO as to whether they accept it.

Yes the incentive is payable for the second time. Note this doesn't apply to care leaver bursaries.

You do a revised TNP1 and TNP 2 showing the revised training cost (did it originally include the EPA?) and the EPA cost. If you need to collect the EPA cost from a revised AS entry then the original needs to be stopped and a new one created for the residual training and the EPA cost. The month of this AS revised entry needs to be the month shown on the revised TNP's. If your original AS entry was the band value you won't be able to exceed this and the EPA cost would have been included in the original amount even if it was "implied".

Yes I believe an SME with a 16-18 year old can be funded by a levy transfer. The levy transfer and the 5% waiver are completely different mechanisms
