Would like to urge those who consider themselves "newbies" in particular to sign up to this (and those from very small providers and those of you who use the Learner Entry Tool!), it's all very well us old lags doing these sessions (and I hope to contribute), but it's often difficult for me to remember what it was like starting out, so your perspectives are really useful!!!

(I can't believe they're still doing this) What is the point of you releasing data that is fundamentally broken? How can the EDUCATION AND TRAINING data be affected by an issue with AchDate* when AchDate shouldn't be anywhere near the E&T calculation? I'd rather have waited another week and had usable data than you scrambling to hit a 30 June deadline. With the exception of overdue continuers and overdue BILs, this data cannot be used for anything and, frankly, I'm not entirely sure I trust it to do those things either... You've had 18 months since you last produced any data to work this stuff out, how can this possibly be acceptable? *Quote from the Service Desk "We are aware that there is an issue with Hybrid End Year where Ach Date is blank (because the aim has withdrawn) and these are currently being marked as Hybrid End Year ‘2020.5’ when they should be marked as the Actual/Planned/Report Year depending on the latest of those three dates. The above will be addressed and resolved in the next release of QARs In_Year at R12."

See, I think it's a Quality thing at this point? Kind of *particularly* if they've not done any formal E&M for 20 years, I'd want to know what their current baseline is to work out what I'm going to have to help them with during their programme *regardless* of qualifications, or lack of? Doesn't matter if they're not going to do Functional Skills, I think we still need to know how their maths and English level will deal with the programme?

Here, once again, to say how much I *love* government by press release... Why not just release the updated rules at the same time???

Here the thing, it just says "exams", so we have to read it as all of them. Problem is they don't think people take exams on standards apart from EPA because so few have mandatory quals... Not to mention the complete misunderstanding of pedagogy that claims that revision isn't new learning (if they know it, why would they revise it???). We can give Study Prog learners FOUR WEEKS of revision as part of their programmes and still count the hours... Far be it for me to suggest workarounds, but "reflection" and "wider reading" still seem to be eligible and I'm sure there are other synonyms...

Still no chance of separate lines for the different years on the remittance sheets sent to our finance departments, I assume?

I think I'd class this as an admin error and update the hours to match what has actually been delivered.

Melanie Aspinall Problem is most people can't apply until their current visa has almost expired so, for example, someone with 12 months left wanting to do an 18 month App wouldn't be able to apply to extend yet... Traditionally we've fallen back on "do you have every intention of applying to extend when you can?" but the way they've "clarified" 20.4 Is Not Helpful...
