Training provider is an umbrella term used by the ESFA to refer to anyone offering teaching and learning. Not to be confused with independent training provider.

Hi Adam, Yes they would be considered to hold a full level 3 qual as per the def. in AEB funding rules: 135. Level 3 is the level of attainment which is demonstrated by a: 135.1. General Certificate of Education at the advanced level in 2 subjects 135.2. General Certificate of Education at the AS level in 4 subjects As far as I know a GCSE grade 1 is considered a Pass. A grade 4 or above is considered a high grade. Phil

Hi Chris, Best thing to do would be to read the Funding rules and ILR Guidance doc to determine if the aim/hours should be removed. I would not expect there to be aims for enrichment that would affect the QAR - not having started them may affect what you claim as eep hours for the Study prog though which might have a funding band implication. Phil

Martin West thank you for your response it has really got me thinking. The area that most concerned me was: From: Kickstart Scheme Grant Funding Agreement: terms and conditions for employers – effective from 21 June 2021 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Para 5.5: 5.5. If the Grant Recipient is party to any contract for goods, works or services or any funding agreement (other than this Grant Agreement) with any Crown Body, whether national, local or devolved, the Grant Recipient must not use Kickstart Scheme Grant payments to replace or duplicate the funding provided by that Crown Body for the purpose of that contract or funding agreement. And that it could be construed that we are using the Kickstart Scheme grant to pay learners to attend AEB provision. Am I over thinking this? what are your thoughts? Phil

The pedant in me would ask why one was doing 445 hours less overall - @37 hrs per week this is nearly 3 months less overall. Does the apprentice on the 30 hours a week have more prior attainment? Are the Total negotiated prices the same? According to the rules there is nothing wrong with this being the case as long as you are able to justify the difference.

@..., You can have learners repeat a Non-reg aim no trouble, as long as the learning is significantly different. The PDSATS duplicate aim report will become almost unusable but hey ho. Phil

Hi Clare Thrush, Actual payments include adjustments to previous payments. Often times the Actual payments will vary due to changes in the ILR from the previous month. E.g. reporting a learner with a withdrawal date in months prior to the submission date or reporting a learner with a start date prior to the current return date etc... Overall total actual payments so far in the year 'should' reconcile to the latest Submit learner data funding summary report. HTH Phil

Sharon Toothill From memory the Hybrid end year is the LATEST of planned end date, achievement date, or reporting year. So for overall it will not be counted as a negative in 20/21 but as a positive in your 21/22 - assuming the apprentice passes :-) Phil
