Nah, not this century ;) Fire evacuations should be done by marshalls checking the building is empty, not by taking names once everyone is outside... There's certainly no funding or audit rule requiring a paper register, let's put it that way.

Here's the thing: What if they fail? If they come back to resit, your completion date isn't going to be right and then you'll have to update it and it all gets super messy. So, unless you are certain that, pass or fail, that's them done, I'd advise against. I'm not that close to all the different EPA processes but, I guess, if you had a nod and a wink that they'd passed and it was all fine, then you're reducing the risk of adding that completion date in, but, again, that's up to each provider to determine how happy they feel about doing that.

Ouch, sounds like the update has removed something that stopped those things getting into the ILR which, as Phil points out, is the correct thing to do (even if you're using those records to count up the EEP hours for the learners).

So, hard line answer is "no, not really", in that it's unlikely anyone is going to come after you if you don't. However (of course there is a however!), I'd argue that including these learners in your CIAG strategy and being able to show that you are helping them when they leave you for whatever reason is probably quite Ofsted-friendly as well as the right thing to do. Although Raising the Participation Age says that those between 16-18 MUST be in some form of education, there is literally 0 enforcement of this. Colleges will often have relationships with their home Local Authorities where info on 16-18 leavers will be shared but, even when Connexions services were well funded across the country, they rarely engaged with training providers and these services have been completely decimated over the last decade...

In a sense I kind of feel a bit sorry for them, one wouldn't build a system that has rules for dealing with this because one wouldn't expect it to happen, certainly not at the volumes we've seen over the last year... Having said that, it's been fairly obvious for the last six months, but that's the pace of Civil Service decision making...

I mean, I don't disagree that "we" (in the broadest sense) should be getting these people through EPA, problem is (as the system is currently set up), if they're in Gateway then [ahem] there can't possibly be any learning to do [double ahem], so where does the training provider come in? ESFA need to work out how we're going to deal with them because the current rules basically ignore them...

But remember everyone, these are only *potential* errors! If you're happy that all of your learners appearing on these reports are correct, then don't try and change things so your reports are clear! If anything, I think it's a bit dangerous to threaten an audit based on these three, quite benign, reports...

1&8 would be my feeling, if you believe they'll get a new job by then (and you've got the six weeks 'til R14 to decide still). Easier to record it back to July in 23/24 if they don't subsequently resit. Having said that, there's a financial implication. If you leave them as 1&8 in R14 and then have to 2&3 them back to July, you won't get the completion payment...

It's fine for Adult Skills, not fine for Study Progs or Apprenticeships.

1. no, not at the moment 2. yes, because you've applied for the extension so, per P290, you are deemed to have that status until your application is assessed. And this is one of the reasons why this rule change is so stupid.
